Passed away at Almonte Country Haven on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the age of 93. Dear mother of Don Ayres of Bancroft, Judy Parks of Arizona, Robert Ayres of Jasper, and Rodney Ayres of Almonte. Caring grandmother of Devon Ayres, April Ayres (Tysick) and Nicole Ayres and great-grandmother of Corinna Tysick, Amber Tysick, Elinor Ayres and Alister Ayres. Predeceased by her siblings Dorothy, Margaret, Mildred, Shirley, Harold, Robert, Donald, Lawrence and Ernest, as well as by her parents Alfred and Ruth McAuley (née Phipps). Rita worked in retail for many years until joining Ron Engineering. Her favourite work occupied her for 20 years as a Tour Guide, travelling all over North America, where she was loved by many for her skill and kindness.
In keeping with her wishes, Rita will be interred at Capital Memorial Gardens, alongside her late husband Don Crabtree.
