It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Renate Gertrude Smith on December 28, 2017 in Vernon, BC. Renate was born on January 28, 1954 in Winnipeg, MB. Her grandchildren were her favorite past time. She was a beloved member of the Bosom Buddies and the Kalamalka Country Club for many years. She is survived by her loving husband Doug, to whom she was married for over 33 years, her daughters Brittany (Terence), Jaclyn, son Cameron and grandchildren Stella, Claire, Griffin and Nate. She is predeceased by her parents Frank and Katarina Krahn. Renate was an inspiration to all people she met and she will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Project GRL (projectgrl.joycemeyer.org/). There will be a Celebration of Life held at 1:00pm on Friday, January 5th, 2018 at the Vernon Alliance Church (2601 43rd Avenue, Vernon, BC).
