DEAN, Polly
1930 – 2018
Polly, late of Balgonie, SK and formerly of Invermay, SK, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Neurological Unit of the Regina General Hospital. She was predeceased by her mother Anne Zawyrucha in 1962 and her father Sam Zawyrucha in 1987. Polly is survived by her husband of 70 years, James Dean; son John (Phyllis) of White City, SK and their children, Laura (Jonathan Fuhr) and their daughter Mary, Linzie (Billy-Jack Sauer) and their daughter Parker, Karen (Kurtus Bray) and their children, Jasper and Felicity, and Bradley (Kendra) and their sons, James, William, and Hunter; son Bob (Barb) of Regina, SK and their children, Matthew (Hayley Gieni), Amy (Ryan Pollock) and their sons, Hudson and Nash, and Kyla (Andrew Urzada) and their daughter Emeline; and son Ken (Lynette) of Red Deer, AB and their children, Jessie (Darcy McLaughlin) and their children, Griffin and Leah, Adrian (Crystal) and their daughter Charlie, Sarah and her daughter Abigail, and Heather (Mike McPherson) and their daughters, Olive, Gwen, and Piper. Polly is also survived by three brothers, John (Edna) Zawyrucha of Vernon, BC, Walter Zawyrucha of Vegreville, AB, and Ed (Carol) Zawyrucha of Peachland, BC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Polly’s tenacity, sharp mind, and love of family will be forever remembered. She loved a good laugh and loved to be busy with any work, especially gardening. Polly and Jim farmed in the Invermay, SK area for many years, before retiring to Balgonie, SK in 1982. Her family would like to thank the staff at the Regina General Hospital, Neurological Unit for their kindness and care of Polly. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, 302 King Street, Balgonie, SK on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Rama, SK on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Polly’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 1738 Quebec Avenue, Unit 26, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9 or to one of Polly’s favourite charities, the Regina Humane Society, P.O. Box 3143 Stn. Main, Regina, SK S4P 3G7.
