OBITUARY
Pedro Amparo Reyes
February 22, 1936 – July 25, 2018
Pedro Reyes passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at Banfield Pavilion, Vancouver, BC.
He is survived by his wife, Angelita Lavides Reyes, and his children Amalia, Romeo/Carlota, Miriam/Martin, Mildred, and Ruel/Midori, grandchildren Isabelle, Katrina, Aliya, Yasemin, Leroy, Liam and Cyan. He is predeceased by his brother, Bayani and his parents Remigio and Victoria, and survived by three sisters – Rita, Corazon, and Paz.
Pedro was born February 22, 1936, in Atimonan, Quezon, Philippines to Remigio & Victoria. He married Angelita in July 12, 1962. In 1963, welcomed Amalia, 1964 Romeo, 1965 Miriam, 1969 Mildred, and 1970 Ruel.
Pedro spent most of his time abroad most of the time. In his early adulthood, he worked in Wake Island. In 1968 he worked in Vietnam for 2 years, and migrated to Sarnia, Ontario, Canada in 1972. In 1980 he moved to Vancouver, joined by the whole family immediately after.
Pedro was a wonderful selfless & generous son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend.
The family would like to thank the staff at Banfield Pavilion who cared for Pedro.
Prayer & visitation will be at 5:00 to 7:00pm on Wednesday, August 8th at Oceanview Funeral Home in Burnaby, followed by reception at 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the reception hall. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30am on Thursday, August 9th, at St. Joseph’s Parish, 1612 East 18th Avenue, Vancouver, BC. Interment will follow at Ocean View Cemetery in Burnaby.
