Obituary of Pearl Nicholls
NICHOLLS, Pearl Arvilla (nee Windecker)
Passed away peacefully at Woodlands of Sunset, Welland, on Sunday, September 9, 2018 in her 94th year. Dear wife of the late Glenn Nicholls (2005). Beloved mother of John and Miriana Nicholls of Fenwick, Lynda and Larry Sherwood of Fonthill, Sharon and Phil Schuyler of Strathroy, Marilyn and Bob Graham of Lowbanks, Jean and Ted Vanwyk of Dunnville, Shirley and Frank Rocco of Welland and Wayde and Melodee Nicholls of Cambridge. Loving grandmother of 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents William and Vera (nee Jones) Windecker; her sister Helen Robins, brothers Nelson « Pete » Windecker, Albert Windecker, and Donald Windecker; her daughter Joan Whorwood; daughter in law June Nicholls; and her grandchildren Brenda VanSlack and Candy Campbell. Pearl was a proud member of the United Empire Loyalist Society and the Wellandport Church of Christ. She won awards for her quilting and needlework, was known for canning, her beautiful gardens and hard work on the family farm. Friends will be received at the Ballard Minor Funeral Home, 315 Broad Street East, Dunnville on Tuesday, September 11 from 7-9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, September 12 from 10-11 a.m. followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 11 a.m. Interment in Zion Cemetery.
