Patricia « Carole » Brodie (nee Guy)
April 24, 1934 – February 9, 2018
It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Carole Brodie, at Boundary Trails Health Centre, on February 9, 2018.
Carole is survived by her brother; Dennis Guy, son; Shane (Doris), daughters; Sheri-Lee (Brenda) Phoenix and April (Stacey) Raddatz, grandsons; Scott and Brayden, granddaughters; Ashley, Lauren, Caitlin, Nicole (Gareth), Alicia, Claudette, Ange-Aimé, great-grandsons; Camden, Kolbie, and Austin.
She was predeceased by her husband Harold, siblings; Terry Guy and Shirley Reichart, brothers-in-law; Joseph (Joe) Reichart, Stanley Brodie, Colin Brodie, and sister-in-law; Hilda Risbey.
Carole was born on April 24, 1934 in Port Arthur, Ontario to Reginald and Jeane Guy. Although she was born Patricia Carol Guy she preferred to go by Carole (with the ending ‘e’) as it sounded fancier.
Mom grew up in Winnipeg in East and North Kildonan. She met the love of her life, Harold, at work. They moved extensively around Manitoba with Harold’s many government postings. They made lifelong friends in many of the places they lived at, that they continued to stay in touch with. She loved to write and keep in contact with friends and family or to talk over the phone. With some friends, making it a weekly routine she kept for many years.
She loved to cook and sew and was very accomplished in both. She loved the quiet life in the country where she and Harold could grow a garden, enjoy nature and go for quiet car rides to wherever the road would take them.
The family wishes to thank the emergency room staff as well as her family d
As per Carole’s wishes, a private family service is being held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boundary Trails Health Centre Foundation or the charity of your choice in Carole’s memory.
