Noreen Sharon Minary
On Tuesday, April 24, 2018, Noreen Sharon Minary passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, Palliative Care. Born August 1, 1946 in Minnedosa, Manitoba, Noreen was the only child of Keith and Marg Story. After graduating from Neelin High School, Noreen took her first job at the Highways Department working for several years, then moved to Assiniboine Community College until her retirement. A large part of Noreen’s life was rodeo. During the summer, numerous weekends were spent in her truck pulling a fifth wheel camper to rodeos all over Manitoba and Saskatchewan. She enjoyed this part so much because she considered the rodeos not just as a secretary job but as her entertainment spending time with friends; especially the Francis Rodeo Stock Association who made her feel like family and part of their crew. As a reward for all her years with rodeo Noreen was entered into the Manitoba Rodeo Cowboys Association Hall of Fame in 2006. Noreen is survived by her daughter Taany (Jeff) Wheeler and granddaughter Kelsey Wheeler. She was predeceased by her parents Keith and Margory Story, and Brian Minary – father of Taany. To honour Noreen’s wishes there will be no service.
