Vincent, Nora Elizabeth Dauphinee (Arnold)
B.A. (King’s), B.Ed. (Dalhousie)
Nora passed peacefully surrounded by her family on 18 April 2018 at Trillium Care Community, Kingston ON. Born 21 June 1942 at Bridgewater NS, Nora was a proud Novascotian with family roots in Hubbards and a great fondness for Mahone Bay, where her father was Anglican Rector when she was a child. She came to Kingston in 1966 as a bride and, after raising her two sons, worked as an administrator at the School of English, Queen’s University, until her retirement. Her defining passion, however, was for organ and choral music. She was Organist and Choir Director at St. Thomas’s Anglican Church for over 30 years and took great joy in singing with various local choirs, especially with the Cantabile Women’s Choir. She leaves behind her husband Tom; sons, Charles (Michèle-Renée) of Ottawa and Douglas (Julie-Ann) of Dartmouth; three grandsons, Patrick, Daniel, and Micah; and her brother John (Kathryn) Arnold of Halifax. She was predeceased by her parents, Bishop George and Mary Arnold of Nova Scotia.
Special thanks to the medical and care team, as well as to the dietary, maintenance, and administrative staff at Trillium Care Community, all of whom take great care of the folks of Garden House. A Memorial Eucharist will be held at St. Thomas’s Anglican Church, 130 Lakeview Avenue, Kingston, on Monday 23 April at 2 pm. In lieu of other tokens of respect, Nora would urge that donations be made to the Scholarship Fund of the Cantabile Choirs of Kingston (see cantabilechoirs.ca or PO Box 2273, Kingston ON, K7L 5J9).
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Nora
