Morton P. « Sonny » Dixon
1936-2018
Morton « Sonny » Dixon, 81, 6 days shy of his 82nd
birthday, of Riverview and formerly of Waterside passed away
peacefully on December 17th, 2018 with his family by his
side.
Sonny was born in Point Wolfe on December 23rd,
1936 the son of the late Clifford and Sarah (Hood)
Dixon.
He worked at Fundy National Park until his
retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was also a farmer and enjoyed the farm life. Sonny lived
life to the fullest and loved to laugh and tease. He had a
twinkle in his eye when he was up to something. He loved
Albert County and travelling the back roads with his
buddies. He has left his family with many cherished memories
and lots of stories to have a good laugh about. It
is hard to say goodbye but he is now having a great reunion with his
loved ones and friends that have gone before him. He will
never be forgotten and will live on in the hearts of his family
forever.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Hazel Dixon of
Riverview; daughters, Betty Dearing (Dave) of ON, Charlene Dixon of NS
and Christine Holman (Raj) of NS; sons, Carl Dixon (Teri) of BC and
Craig Dixon of West River; his treasured grandchildren and great
grandchildren; his 4 sisters and 5 brothers; all his in-laws and
extended family. He will also be missed by many nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by daughter, Heather
and by 2 brothers; nieces and nephews.
Honouring Sonny’s own wishes there will be no
visitation. A Memorial Service and Celebration of his life
will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Saturday, December
22nd, 2018 at 2:00pm. Interment will be in the Bayview
Cemetery, Harvey, NB in the spring.
Donations to the Bayview Cemetery or charity of the donor’s
choice would be greatly appreciated.
