Obituary for Monica Shirley Poirier (nee Murphy)
“Farewell sweet mama”
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of the late Mona Poirier on Saturday, October 20, 2018. She leaves to mourn her loving children Ambrose and Carol Noseworthy (Ron); adoring grandchildren Megan and Brittney (Ethan); cherished great-granddaughter Nola Ann; sister Agnes Pynn of St. John’s and brother Dennis Murphy (Manie) of Curling; and a large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by her husband Bernard (Feb. 1999); parents William and Bridget Murphy; sisters Dolores Edwards, Clara Nolan, Frances Tarrant, Edwina Coleman, Thomasine Parsons; brothers Cyril Murphy and William Murphy Junior. A memorial mass will take place at 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 131 Birchmount Road, Scarborough, Ontario M1N 3J7. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation are appreciated. Many thanks to the professionals at Michael Garron Hospital and Providence Healthcare.
