Obituary for
Mohinder Kaur Bedi (Bawa)
Mrs. Mohinder Kaur Bedi, born on March 31, 1919 in Ferozepur, India, left for her heavenly abode, peacefully, on October 2, 2018 at the Medex Nursing Home, Ottawa, just short of a century by a few months. She leaves behind Gurbachan Singh Bedi, her husband and companion of 80 years, her daughters Trilochan Uppal (Dr. Surjit), Dr. Parvesh Bajaj (late Parminder) and son, Colonel Tejinder Singh Bedi (Pinki). Grandchildren Pavneet Uppal (Dr. Neena), Dr. Vikram Bajaj, Tushaar Bedi & Taneesha (Gaurav) and great-grandchildren Taj and Kirin.
She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother and a very courageous lady who protected her flock throughout the turmoil of Partition. She raised her children in a stupendous manner. She always stood by the side of her husband and willingly shifted base from India to Canada in October 1987. She was adept in embroidery, an active member and singer in her clubs and a devoted follower of Sikhism. Her later years were spent reciting Sikh religious hymns (Paath). May Waheguru give her eternal peace in Heaven and Moksh, free from burdens of rebirth.
Our sincere thanks and gratitude to Neera (Billoo) and the Staff of Medex Nursing Home for their loving care which made her stay so comfortable.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Ave., (at Richmond Road), Ottawa on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 10a.m. to 12 noon, followed by prayers and Guru ka Langar at Gurdwara Sahib, 25 Gurdwara Road, Nepean, ON.
