Michael Rooney
July 7, 1934 – January 11, 2018
Peacefully on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at the Brampton Civic Hospital, in his 84th year. Beloved husband of June (nee Gray). Loving father of Linda and her husband John Jeffrey. Cherished grandfather of Derek (Jessica) Jeffrey, Kevin (Paige) Jeffrey and Ryan Jeffrey. Dear great-grandfather of Grayson, Rhea and Katherine. Brother of the late Tom, Mary, Bryan, the late John Paul, Joan, Stephen, Peter and Clara. Michael was a member of the RCAF Central Band in Ottawa from 1961- 1968. He was also a teacher for 18 years with the Toronto District Separate School Board at Michael Power – St. Joseph High School’s music department. A private interment will be held in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto. A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Sunday January 21st, 2018 at 2 pm from North Bramalea United Church, 363 Howden Blvd. Donations to the William Osler Health System Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
