Melbourne “Mel” Barrow
November 1st, 1921 – September 26th, 2018
Peacefully passed in his 97th year. Finally reunited with his beloved wife Ann (1986). Predeceased by his eldest son Kevin (1978). A loving father to Colin and daughter-in-law Mary Barrow. Devoted and forever cherished ‘Papa’ to Elizabeth (Mark) Winchester and James Barrow. A veteran of World War II and an ever-proud Welshman, Mel emigrated to Canada with $100 in his pocket with the aim of building a better life for his family. A hard-working man, he retired after a full career with Kelsey-Hayes. During those years he was proud to have been a Freemason, as well as a member of the Windsor Sportsmens Club. Mel’s family wishes to give their heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation to the staff at Heron Terrace for their years of care and support. Visitation will take place at Walter D. Kelly Life Celebration Centre (1969 Wyandotte St. E. Windsor 519-252-5711) on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 6-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on October 1, 2018 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Mel may be made to the Windsor Es Humane Society.
