Lovingly Remembered
Mary Myroon of Calgary passed away on September 6, 2018 at the age of 93 years. She is predeceased by her husband Alex and sisters Rose and Olga. She is lovingly remembered by her sons Ken (Marg) and Don (Terri), her grandchildren Alicia (Mark), Robb (Kathleen), Chase and Colby, her great-grandchild James, her sister Jean (Bill) and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mary was born in Sunland, AB and educated in Bruderheim, AB. She amazed her family and friends with her skills in cross-stitch, hardanger, crochet, knitting, and sewing. Also she excelled in baking and cooking. On two occasions Mary displayed her needlework at the Calgary Glenbow Museum. She was a very active member of St. Vladimir’s Church singing in the choir, helping organize charity bazaars and working at many catering events. She was a convener at St. Vladimir’s Church for a 1988 Millennium project – an intricate embroidery of the Altar Cloths. She worked many years for Gellibrand Fabrics and for The Bay in the fabrics department. Mary enjoyed travel and golf.
Since 2004 Mary lived at Staywell Manor with her final months spent at Newport Harbour Care Centre. The family thanks you for the care provided at both facilities.
