Lynn Marie Culligan
Lynn, of Jacquet River (N. B.), passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, April 6, 2018. While unexpected, the family takes comfort in knowing the passing was peaceful and without suffering.
Lynn had many close relationships among her family and group of friends. She would often attend weekly card parties, and enjoyed weekly drives to the surrounding communities around the North Shore and the Gaspé Peninsula. Lynn enjoyed the outdoors and walking along the beaches while collecting sea-glass in her free time.
Lynn graduated from New Brunswick Teacher’s College and began her teaching career in Montreal. Lynn was also known by many as a memorable teacher in the local school system where she retired. In her retirement, Lynn enjoyed vacationing and visiting her daughters, Gwen and Lindsay, in the United States.
Lynn will be fondly remembered for her comical dry humour and ability to ‘call a spade a spade’. She could often find the underlying humour in the quintessential ‘going-ons’ of the local community, including her own contributions to some of those stories. She is survived by her daughters, Gwen and Lindsay; her brothers Timothy (Debbie) and Brian (Tarja); and sisters Joyce Myers and Peggy Gordon; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Lynn is predeceased by her father, Leslie and mother Marion (née Doyle); as well as her brother, Stanley and sister Mary Langhan.
As to her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. Plans for a graveside ceremony and celebration of life for family and friends will be held in the summer of 2018. And while she will be greatly missed by those who knew her, Lynn would have simply appreciated in the meantime the sharing of a warm memory or a comical story with a small toast on her behalf.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of MacMillan’s Funeral Home.
