Lola Preteau 1931-2018
Peacefully on October 3, 2018 at The Golden Door Geriatric centre Mom passed away at the age of 87.
Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Aubert Preteau, Son Daniel St. George, parents Gèrald & Elisa Lavoie, brothers Bernard Lavoie, and Rio Lavoie (Jean).
Survived by Son Paul St. George, Daughters Janet Halbesma (Len), Lisa Pearson, grandchildren Ken St. George(Christine), Michelle Pyesmany(Stephen), Nicci Koughan(Scott), Anthony Manza(Heidi), Aaron Neilson, great grandchildren Jeremy St. George, Courtney St. George, Greyson Pyesmany, Iyla Pyesmany, Adelyn Lola Koughan, Everett Koughan, Henry Manza, step great grandchildren Maddie Nash, Cora-Lee Nash and sisters Geralda Bonenfant Grand Falls N.B., Bernetta Ouellet Edmunston N.B., Sylvia Doucette Nepean Ontario.
Born and raised in Edmunston New Brunswick. At various points in her life she lived in Germany, Shilo MB, Winnipeg, St. Malo MB, Apache Junction AZ and Balcarres SK.
She was a kind, caring, strong but sensitive person. She lived modestly and made her family her first priority. She will always be remembered for her generous love and appreciation of family and all who came in contact with her. Mom’s joy was derived from the simple things in life such as a loving touch, spending time with family and friends, music, and dancing.
Mom appreciated, and we were comforted by, the wonderful compassionate care she received during the last years of her life. We extend a special thank you to her care companion and friend Michelle Stanton, staff at the Cathedrale Manor, and the care team of the Golden Door Geriatric Centre.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca) or a charity of your choice.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday October 6, 2018 @ 1:00 P.M. at Glen Eden Funeral Home and Cemetery 4477 Main Street. Reception to follow.
Cremation will take place and a private internment will be held at a later date.
