Lola Jane Gregory
1934-2018
It is with great sadness that the family of the Late
Lola Jane Gregory announce her passing on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at
the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville, NL at the age of 84
years. Lola was born in Cartyville, NL, the daughter of Buller and
Catherin (McKay). She had a sister Hazel Tilley (Evans) and a brother
Kevin Evans. Some of Lola’s best childhood memories involved
her horse (Silver). She completed nursing training at the Victoria
General Hospital in Halifax NS and later attended Memorial University
to advance her nursing education. Lola and John were happily married
for 62 years and had 3 children, Jeanette, Paul and Lisa.
Lola’s favorite things were time spent in Cartyville, with
family, traveling, and socializing (a good game of cards). She happily
gave many hours working with local charities in both Grand Falls where
they lived for 13 years and then in Corner Brook. Lola was an amazing
Grandmother to Amy, Beth, Melissa, Lochlin, Heather and Justin. She
visited them often and attended many of their activities. Recently she
discovered the blessing of being a Great Grandmother which she
treasured dearly. Family was very important to Lola and she was
very important to us. We will miss her dearly. We love you. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home
Stephenville Crossing, NL.
