Linden Carson “Lindy” passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s at Fleming in Peterborough on September 25th, 2018 at the age of 89.
Lindy will be remembered with love by his daughters Christine and Mary Lynn (David) along with his grandchildren, Nate (Kathleen), Hannah, Riley and Tess and great-granddaughter Mackenzie. His wife Gwendolyne passed away last year after almost 65 years together. His siblings Lila, Glen, Harold, and Noreen predeceased him. He is survived by his sister Joan Joynt and many nieces and nephews and their families.
He was a proud Bell Canada retiree and WWII veteran (Merchant Navy). He had Paul Newman blue eyes and a teasing wink, and was always willing to give a helping hand. He loved his family intensely and adored his grandchildren. His cottage on Black Lake was his favorite place where he enjoyed water skiing, “euchring” people at cards, and rowing his grandchildren around the lake and spoiling them with chocolate bars.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Lindy’s life on Saturday, October 20th from Noon to 3 pm at 5 Prince Street, Millbrook. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society Canada or your local Legion.
