Linda Shaffer
1944-2018
Linda Margaret Shaffer (Dixson) of Riverview passed away at
The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, December 20, 2018. Born in Moncton,
she was the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Steeves)
Dixson. Linda worked for 27 years at The Moncton Hospital
retiring in 2003. After her retirement she worked part-time
as an in-home care giver to seniors until January 2009.
Linda loved her Lord and was a member of the Riverview
Baptist Church and the Women’s Missionary Society. She loved
going for coffee with the girls and cherished Friday morning coffee
with her boys.
Besides her mother Margaret, she is survived by her two sons;
Dale Shaffer of Riverview, and Mark Shaffer (Shirley Geldart) of
Hillsborough. She is also survived by her precious
grandchildren; Amanda, Katelyn and Drew Shaffer. Linda was
predeceased by her father in 1983.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd.,
Riverview, 869-2007 on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 6-8
PM. A service celebrating her life will take place from the funeral
home on Friday, December 28 at 11 AM with Rev. Jonathan Gorham
officiating. The interment will take place at
Grey’s Island Cemetery in Hillsborough at a later
date. Donations can be made in Linda’s memory to
Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation.
