Leo « Mack » Smith
1938-2018
Leo MacKeen « Mack » Smith, 79 years of Amherst,
formerly of Springhill, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 10,
2018 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in
Springhill, he was a son of the late George Williard & Elnora
Jane (Fraser) Smith.
Mack was a farming for many years, worked in the woods. He
raced horses. He sold cars for many years. He was an avid dancer and
loved old country music. He was a member of The Knights of Pythias and
The Dokies.
Mack will be sadly missed by his children, Tim (Heather) of
Springhill, Jane Brine (Robert) of Amherst, Rodney (Jacie) of
Springhill, Randy (Jeanie Maie) of Rodney, NS; brother Noel (Ruth) of
Springhill, NS, twelve grandhcildren, eight great grandchildren;
nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased, by his wife,
Marilyn, sister, Darlene, brother, Glen
Arrangements are
under the direction and care of A.H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane
St., Springhill, NS (902-597-2361). The family will receive visitors
on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 12-2 p.m. with a funeral service to
follow at 2 p.m. Burial to take place in the Rodney
Cemetery.
The family would like to thank The Odd Fellows Home, Pictou,
Gables Lodge and the V.O.N. for all their care and service for
dad.
