Lawrence Clifford Hurren
29 September , 1937 – 24 May , 2018
In Loving Memory of Lawrence (Larry) Clifford Hurren. It is with heavy hearts Larry’s family announce his passing on Thursday May 24, 2018. Larry was born September 29, 1937 in Saskatchewan. Remembering Larry’s life is his best friend, his loving wife of 60 years, Mary Anne. Larry will be forever remembered by his daughters, Donna Hurren, Ellen (Tim) Waugh, Karen Nantes, and Deanne Hurren. He was so proud of his grandchildren, Kenny Davey, Amy Nantes, and Taylor Hurren. He is also survived by his brother Harvey (Ethel) Hurren of Brandon, MB, sister-in-law Pat Cottingham, sister-in-law Phyllis Cooper, and many nieces and nephews and their families. He treasured his many friends and their friendships over the years. Larry was born to Oliver and Mary Hurren in Torquay, Saskatchewan where he grew up and received his education. Larry married Mary Anne Sturgess in 1958 and they had their four daughters while following construction jobs in southern Saskatchewan. In 1971 they moved west to Kelowna, BC and they were home. For the past 20 years, since retirement, Larry and Mary Anne enjoyed many travels including cruises all over the world and many bus tours into the US. His family is proud of his 48 years of sobriety and grateful for the fellowship and friendships he had that helped him reach this achievement. He gave back whenever possible to help others with their own struggle to overcome this illness. Larry was predeceased by his parents Mary and Oliver Hurren, his sisters Jean Hurren, Maude and husband Wilfred Steinke, brothers Jim Hurren, Gordon Hurren and son-in-law Ken Davey. A memorial will be announced at a later date.
