BRANNEN, Laurel Margaret – age 61, Comeau’s Hill, Yarmouth Co., passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the QE II Health Sciences Centre (Infirmary Site), Halifax. Born May 7, 1956 in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of Margaret (Harris) Nickerson and the late Delmar Nickerson. Laurel worked in customer service for many years and most people will remember Laurel’s radiant personality from Tusket Sales and Service and Murray Motors. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping and spending time with her grandchildren. She was also a former Scout leader. Aside from her mother, Margaret, Laurel is survived by her husband, Kelly Brannen, as well as by her loving children, Jonathan (Michelle) Dugas, Forest Glen; Jody Lent (Ron Graves), Raynardton and Nelson Brannen, Little River Harbour, as well as her grandchildren, Dillan Lent, Dawson Dugas, Ashton Dugas, Dana Bremner, Brandon Frotten, Jackson Brannen and Sophia Brannen, as well as by a great grandson, Ronan. Also surviving are sisters, Mary (Helgi) Joensen, Red Deer, AB; Carolyn (Chris) Landry, Wedgeport and Brenda (Ronnie) LeBlanc, Comeau’s Hill. Aside from her father, Delmar, she was predeceased by a sister, Ruth-Ann Wyman and a brother, Lourie Nickerson. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2018 at H.M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, 29 Albert St., Yarmouth, Deacon Bruce Hubbard officiating. Interment will follow in St. Gabriel’s Cemetery, Comeau’s Hill.
