Kathleen « Kay » Phillips (Miller)
Phillips, Kathleen (Kay) – Passed away peacefully on Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Douglas Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Art Phillips (2007). Eternally loved by her children Linda (Rick) Wilkinson and Bob (Janis) Phillips. Adored grandmother of Brett Potter, Joleen (Phillip) Maxwell and Bobby (Nikki) Phillips and much loved G.G. of Lillian and Colette Maxwell. Dearest sister of Sheila nee Miller (the late Don) Colan. Caring aunt to Chuck (the late Terri) Philip, Michael Philip, and Stephen (Heidi) Colan. Also, sadly missed by Diane Phillips.
Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins in England. Kay was born in London, England on March 22, 1926. She was a World War II Veteran serving with the W.R.N.S. when she met Art in Trafalgar Square while he was serving overseas with the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada. They married in 1946 and she immigrated to Cortland, Ontario. In 1952 they moved to Niagara Falls residing on Dunn St. for 63 years. To be closer to her daughter, Kay then moved to Fort Erie and resided at Garrison Place. Special thanks to Dr. Scher and the staff at Douglas Memorial Hospital for their exceptional care. A private family service has taken place. Burial at Fairview Cemetery. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Princess Margaret Foundation.
