It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Richard Dollard announce his passing at his residence in Stephenville on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the age of 77. He leaves to mourn Rosa, his wife of 52 years, three wonderful daughters; Cheryl (Currie Reid) in Ottawa; Joelle (Troy Mason) in Halifax and Leanne (Craig Courturier) in Ottawa; five precious grandchildren: Amelia, Curtis, Meredith, Carson and Elliot; one brother, Jimmy of St. Georges; 4 sisters; Marie (Ben Cooper) of Corner Brook; Tela Dollard (late Bob Clouter) of St. Georges; Patsy Linthorne of St. George’s; and Sue (Ed Hickey) of St. John’s; sisters-in-law, Kay Dollard of Stephenville Crossing; Marguerite White (Cornwall, Ontario) Geneva (Abe Coles) of St. John’s; Valda Bourgeois of Stephenville; Carlotta (Charles Fennemore) of Grand Falls; Chris (Paul Wilson) of St. John’s; Brother-in-law, Kirk (Joanne) White of St. John’s; many nieces and nephews on the Dollard and White sides of the family and his Friend Brendan White. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Mercedes Dollard; his brother Neal; his neice, Neala Dollard; his sister-in-law Marina Dollard; his Mother and Father-in-law; Douglas and Margaret White and his brothers-in-law Douglas White Jr., Malcolm White, and Calvin Linthorne.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 7pm – 9pm and on Friday October 19, 2018 from 2pm – 4pm and 7pm -9pm at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville. Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday October 20, 2018 at St. Stephen’s R.C. Church on West Street in Stephenville with Father Maurice O’Quinn officiating and internment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, immediately following the Mass. The family extends special thanks to Dr. Allan McComiskey, Nurse Claire Thibeau, O.T., Adam Maddalena, Father Maurice O’Quinn, Father Krishnarao, Personal Care Attendant, Brendan White, and the many friends (too many to name) who offered their time, support and comfort during Joe’s journey with Alzheimer’s. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations to the Alzheimers Society; the Shepherds’ Fund Foundation or a charity of one’s choice.
