Jonas Arthur Sacrey
It is with profound sadness that the family of the late Jonas Arthur Sacrey announces his passing. Jonas passed away from The Valley Vista Senior Citizen’s Home, Springdale, NL on Monday, June 11th, 2018 at the age of 84 years.
Jonas is predeceased by his parents – Dorman & Hermene Sacrey; parents-in-law – Dorman & Theresa Sacrey; children – Shawn Sacrey, Timothy Sacrey & Craig Sacrey; siblings – Viola Decker (Francis), Eileen Regular (Malcolm), Pleaman Sacrey, Gerald Sacrey, Edna Fleming (Selby), Jessie Sacrey & Minnie Sacrey; siblings-in-law – Lillian Sheppard (Linton), Gordon Sacrey, Alfreda Martin (Johnny), Winston Sacrey, Roy Decker & Claude Sacrey.
Left to cherish a lifetime of incredible memories are his wife of 56 years, Evelyn Sacrey; children – Bram Sacrey (Carolanne) & Derrick Sacrey (Irene); grandchildren – Stephen Sacrey (Shannon), Trina Sacrey, Dr. Lori Hurst (Allen) & Terri-Lynn Sacrey; great-grandchildren – Alyssa, Alanna, Ayden, Eva, Logan & Kalli; siblings – Geraldine Decker, Olive Newbury (Sidney), Maxine Decker (Gary) & Zack Sacrey (Kay); siblings-in-law – Bob Sacrey (Edna), Loretta Saunders (Lewis), Jessie Mitchell (Reg), Ruby Sacrey, Florella Sacrey & Olive Sacrey as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Public Visitation will take place from The Salvation Army Citadel, Woodstock, NL on Thursday, June 14th, 2018 from 1:00PM to 9:00PM.
Mr. Bram Sacrey assisted by Majors George and Karen Crocker will conduct the Funeral Service from The Salvation Army Citadel, Woodstock, NL on Friday, June 15th, 2018 at 2:00PM. Interment to follow from The Salvation Army Cemetery, Woodstock, NL.
As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted, or donations may be made in Jonas’ memory to Daffodil Place, c/o Canadian Cancer Society, Newfoundland and Labrador Division, 70 Ropewalk Lane, P.O. Box 8921, St. John’s NL, A1B 3R9.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Foster Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL.
