Obituary of John Keeler
KEELER, John Campbell
John passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the age of 77, after a year-long, courageous battle with Cancer. Predeceased by his father Neil, mother Sadie and wife Glenda, he is survived by son Jason (Cherylee), granddaughters Danica and Alayna and sisters Margaret and Irene. Born in Aneroid, Saskatchewan, John grew up on the family farm and graduated high school in 1959 before beginning his career with the Royal Bank, working in various locations across the province. He subsequently worked for the Teachers’ Credit Union and finally the Government of Saskatchewan in Regina before retiring in 2006. John married Glenda MacDonald on January 22, 1966, raised son Jason, and enjoyed 45 wonderful years of marriage until Glenda’s passing on June 22, 2011. He was very devoted to his granddaughters and enjoyed travelling to Ontario to spend time with them. Playing golf and softball in the summer, curling in the winter, and cheering on the Jays and Riders were John’s passions. He especially looked forward to attending the annual Quebec International Curling Bonspiel, where lasting friendships and memories were made. Volunteering was also a passion of John’s, having donated time to institutions such as Knox Metropolitan Church, Saskatchewan Senior Fitness Association, and Heart and Stroke Foundation. John will be greatly missed by friends and family, especially his « special person », son Jason and his « pride and joy », granddaughters Danica and Alayna. On John’s behalf, his family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Regina Pasqua Hospital in the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, 3B and 4A units. A Memorial Service will be held at Knox Metropolitan Church, 2340 Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, January 5, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, 200-4545 Parliament Avenue, Regina, SK S4W 0G3.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de John
