John Stanley Lazar
On Sunday, June 17, 2018, John peacefully passed away.
John will be remembered and forever loved by his wife of 62 years, Carole (nee Mager); his daughter Barb; son Stan (Sandy) and granddaughters Sarah and Chelsea. He was Johnny to his wife, Dad to his children and Gramps to his grandchildren.
He was born in Cieklin, Poland and immigrated to Canada with his parents and his sister Helen in 1934. John graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1955 and had a long and gratifying career with Bristol Aerospace. He was instrumental in establishing the Rockwood facility in 1962. John enjoyed thirty healthy, active and fulfilling years of retirement.
Among his interests, he pursued a life-long passion for golf and curled in a number of leagues each winter.
He will be remembered as a creative and innovative man, always providing encouragement and guidance to his family. John had an instinctive skill for building and fixing things, especially for his granddaughters. He enjoyed caring for the family cottage and was an avid dog lover.
The family would like to thank Home Care for their support and for the quality of care provided to John over the last few months.
In keeping with John’s wishes, a private family celebration of life with interment will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in John’s memory to a charity close to your heart.
