OBITUARY
John Rudolph Wyss
June 3, 1935 – August 10, 2018
With Eleanor and the support of their good friends, John Rudolph Wyss passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 10, 2018 at the age of 83.
John enjoyed life to the fullest despite his many health issues and diagnosis of Leukemia in 2015. He loved to collect coins, watch his favourite programs on TV, and tell his Swiss stories to anyone who would listen. John enjoyed spending time at the cottage, and travelling with his wife, family, and friends; especially the annual trips home to Switzerland to visit with friends, his brother and family. John will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Eleanor (Tessarzick), daughters Johanne Wyss-Huskinson (Rob Huskinson), and Susanne Wyss (Gary Batt), and his grandchildren Katelynn Beaulne, A.J. Wyss-Huskinson, Griffin Batt, and Addison Batt. In Switzerland, he is survived by his brother Karl Wyss (Heidi Wyss-Till), nieces Carolyn (Massimo De Salvador), Jaquelyn (Martin Kasper), and Evelyn. John was predeceased by his parents Karl and Elise Wyss (Schneebeli). Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (63 Grand Avenue N., Cambridge) at 11am with a visitation one hour prior. No interment at this time. John and Eleanor were blessed by the support and caring of their many friends. The family would like to thank the Grand River Cancer Treatment Centre and the Palliative Care Team for the care and compassion that they showed to John. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Grand River Cancer Treatment Centre, or a charity of your choice.
