Passed away peacefully at Fairhaven Home on Sunday, December 23, 2018, in his 97th year. Beloved husband of the late Muriel. Loving father of Jim (Wendy) and Ron (Barb). Proud Grandfather of Kathleen (Ryan), Sharon, Daniel (Katelyn), Meghan, Blaire, Dana and Adam. Great-grandfather to Rowan. Predeceased by siblings Melville (Agnes), Sadie (Harold) and Doris. Survived by sister-in-law Jean and brother-in-law Aubrey. John served in RCAF from 1941-1946 and the OPP from 1950-1984. John served as Worshipful Master, Simcoe Lodge #79, Bradford and Worthy Patron, Eastern Star #161, Peterborough. Friends may call at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Rd, Peterborough, on Saturday, December 29th, 2018 from 1:15 P.M. to 2:15 P.M. A funeral service will commence in the Highland Park Chapel at 2:30 P.M. Reception to follow. Interment will take place at Thornbury and Clarksburg Union Cemetery at a later date.
