“Jack” aka “Papa” passed away peacefully at his home in North Saanich on Monday, January 29, 2018. He was born in Young, Saskatchewan on April 06, 1928. He is predeceased by his daughter Barbara and his sisters Marion and Marjorie. He is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Dona, his children Rick{Barbara}, Pete{Laura}, Wendy{Brian} and Jeff{Sherryl}, his sister JoAnne, fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. After graduating from the University of Saskatchewan in 1951 Jack married the love of his life and embarked on a career as a geologist for Imperial Oil/Exxon. Exploration in Alberta and BC ultimately became Saudi Arabia and North Africa, creating a foundation for rich experiences and adventure for the entire family. Upon retiring from overseas, Jack and Dona built their dream home and spent the next twenty-five years surrounded by family. Jack’s life was truly exemplary. He set a standard of decency, love of family, and patience that will continue to be a cherished legacy. A private family Memorial Service will be held.
