It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Jeff on June 1, 2018 at Kingston General Hospital at the age of 44. Jeff died from injuries sustained as a result of an accident while doing what he loved cycling and helping others. He was participating in a week-long charity bike ride (7 days in May) in support of pancreatic cancer. Jeff was an avid triathlete and was training to participate in his second Ironman in Mount Tremblant this coming August.

Google Maps was the loving father of Abby who was the light of his life. Loving Partner and Best Friend of Kim Carey. Cherished brother of Jason Vervaeke and Uncle of Hope, Kendra, Laura, and Jack. He will be missed by his mother Nancy (Mike) Delsey, and his step-siblings Harley (Steve), Mikee (Laura); their daughter Jayla, Alex, Colin, Micaela. Missed also by his father Rick (Marilyn) Vervaeke, and his half brothers Nicholas and Nathan. Step-father of Jessica, Taylor, Mikayla, and Hayley. Son-in-law of Bill Carey and Karen MacDonald-Carey. Jeff will be remembered by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Predeceased by his grandparents George and Pauline Vervaeke, Dugaun and Marjorie Almond, and survived by Cathy. Special thanks to the staff at the Kingston General Hospital ICU for all of their amazing care and support.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown, on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 10 a.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Barbeque reception to follow at St. James United Church, 306 Parkside Drive, Waterdown.
In Jeff’s memory please wear your favorite sports shirt, bike jersey or athletic wear and running shoes to the visitation and service.

He will be fondly remembered by family, friends and teammates for his infections smile, helping hands and huge heart.
