Obituary Overview
We miss you Mom
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeane Good (née Mitchell, née Horsley) of Calgary, AB. Jean passed away at the age of 90, after living for many years with dementia.
She was the loving mother of Elaine (Gary) Stapleford of Fredericton, New Brunswick; Marston (Alex) Blackman-Mitchell, Carol (Graeme) Young, Mary-Anne Good (Mike Rybachuk), Heather (Barry) Lanz, all of Calgary. Jeane will be greatly missed by her eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Harold Mitchell (1954) and Mowat Good (2001).
Born in Scarborough, England, Jeane became a nurse before she immigrated to Canada in 1948 and married Harold. They raised two children (with another on the way) before his death in 1954. As a single parent, Jeane worked as a nurse, raising three small children, six years later, Jeane met and married Mowat and they had two daughters.
The family spent many years traveling with his work and Jeane would work tirelessly to re-establish the family in each new town. Since 1978 Jeane has lived in Calgary. She worked as a medical secretary for many years, loved to walk in Fish Creek Park, read, knit and travel but most of all Jeane loved spending time with her friends and family.
We think of her now getting reacquainted with those who have gone before and are happy that our mother is at peace and her mind is whole.
The family will hold a private gathering. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Calgary or a charity of your choice. We thank everyone who has loved and supported our Mom over the years.
We will miss you Mom.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Jeane Good 2018.source
