Obituary of Jean Burke
Passed peacefully away after a brief illness at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, Jean Burke of Victoria, age 85 years. Predeceased by daughter: Goldie, son-in-law: Michael; parents: Edward and Winnifred Parsons, sisters: Clara (Ches), Daisy, and Mildred, brother-in-law: Moses. Leaving to mourn, husband: Harold; two daughters: Brenda Merrigan, Victoria and Beverley (Elywin) Burke, Clarenville; one son: Tony (Karen), Cold Brook; eight grandchildren: Michael (Jullie), Jason (Laura), Samantha (Michael), Tony, Tiffany, Charles (Carly), Jordan (Natasha), and Jessica; three great-grandchildren: Jason ‘JJ’, Dale, and Oliver; five brothers: Albert Parsons, Etobicoke, ON, Stan (Marjorie) Parsons, Foxtrap, Wilfred (Eleanor) Parsons, Victoria, Warren (Amelia) Parsons, Bryant’s Cove, and Llewellyn (Emiline) Parsons, Miramichi, NB; three sisters: Madge (Les) Mercer, Bryant’s Cove, Agnes (Keith) Howard, Brampton, ON, and Linda (Stan) Mercer, South River; brother-in-law: William Bishop, Long Pond; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel’s Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Thursday, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Friday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, April 7 at 11:00 a.m. from St. James Anglican Church, Carbonear. Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Janeway Children’s Hospital, 300 Prince Philip Drive, St. John’s, NL, A1B 3V6.
