Jean-Guy Poirier
1951-2018
RICHIBUCTO, NB – It
is with heavy hearts that the family of Jean-Guy Poirier announce his
sudden passing at his camp on Sunday, August
5th, 2018 at the age of 66. Born
in Rexton, he was the son of the late J. Edgar and Ella (Allain)
Poirier.
Jean-Guy recently retired from his work as a
mechanic, which he did for over 45 years. He spent most of the time at
his camp, which he considered paradise. He enjoyed hunting and riding
his 4-wheeler.
Jean-Guy will be sadly missed by his son, Marc
(Wendy) of Moncton; his three sisters, Angèle MacDonald
(late Barry) of Dartmouth, NS, Colombe Poirier (late Donald Magill) of
Moncton and Gisèle Babineau (Gabriel) of Dieppe; three
brothers, Edgar V. (Helen) of St. Ignace, André (Joyce) of
St. Charles and Raymond (Wilma) of Richibucto; as well as many
cousins, nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by neighbouring
camp owners.
Besides his parents, Jean-Guy was predeceased by one
brother, Gabriel and two half-brothers, Jean-Marie and
François (Frank).
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s
Funeral Home, 33 Acadia Street, Richibucto, on Saturday, August
11th, 2018 from 9:00am until time
of the Celebration of Life, which will be held at Thompson’s
Funeral Home Chapel at
11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of
one’s choice would be
appreciated.
Arrangements are in the professional care
of Thompson’s Funeral Home, Richibucto. (523-4252)
