Obituary for
Janet « Nettie » Wallman
With sadness the family announces Nettie’s passing in New Liskeard on Thursday, September 27th, 2018 in her 99th year.
Janet was born on October 28th, 1919 in Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland to Peter and Janet (Sorley) Graham. She came to Canada in 1951 with her two daughters Dorothy and Lynda. She married Amuil E. Wallman of Martensville, Saskatchewan in Toronto.
Mrs. Wallman was predeceased by her first husband William James Houston R.N., her parents, her husband Amuil Wallman and her son-in-law John Melnick.
Janet was a resident of Cobalt since 1951. She was Clerk of Session for Cobalt United Church for 20 years. She was a founding member of the Cobalt Mining Museum and the Bunker Military Museum Committee. She was named Senior Citizen of the year in 2004. She was a member of Cobalt Silver Leaf Players and various choirs.
Mrs. Wallman is survived by her children Dorothy Bogart and her husband Peter of Cobalt, Lynda Melnick of Kent Bridge and David Wallman and his wife Janis of Newcastle; her grandchildren Michael Bogart and his wife Glenda of Sundown, MB, Sandra Bogart of Winnipeg, MB and RCMP Constable Derek Melnick of Kent Bridge, ON; step-grandson Christopher Earle of Newcastle; and six great-grandchildren: Steven, Andrew and Brianna Bogart; Emma Bogart; and Autumn and John Melnick.
