Peacefully, surrounded by her family and loved ones, at the Provincial
Palliative Care Centre, on January 20, 2018, Jane Pauline Mercedes
McNally (nee McCabe), of Scotchfort, at the age of 79. Beloved wife of
Ken McNally, loving mother of Laurie of Scotchfort, Frank (Lisa) of
Scotchfort, Mervyn (Darice) of Pisquid, and Kent (Jenny) of Fall
River, NS, and cherished grandmother of Jessie, Mitchell, Sarah,
Caitrynn, Anders, Kennedy, and Erin. Also survived by her sisters,
brothers and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pre-deceased by her parents, Stephen and Laurena McCabe, and father
and mother-in-law, Frank and Eileen McNally, siblings Eddie and John,
as well as brothers-in-law, Father Mervyn, Allison, and Alfred. Jane
was proud to be a Registered Nurse, and enjoyed a long career in
nursing, especially her years teaching at the PEI School of Nursing.
Jane received wonderful care from many of her former students in her
last months. We are also grateful to the Provincial Palliative Care
Centre for the exceptional care and compassion provided to Jane and
her family. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home until Wednesday at
10:00 a.m. then to St. Bonaventure Church, Tracadie Cross for funeral
mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery. Visitation
Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Alumnae Nurses of the Charlottetown Hospital
will hold a prayer service at the funeral home on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Provincial Palliative Care
Centre, Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice are
welcomed.
