It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear Mum, Jane Alexander Gilbert (nee Jaques), peacefully on Tuesday December 4, 2018 in her 94th year at the Wedgewood Retirement Home in Brockville, Ontario surrounded by her loving children.
Predeceased by her adoring husband; Ian Francis Gilbert. Loving Mother of Hugh Gilbert and his wife Barbara of Napanee, Ginny Warrener and her husband Jay of Blue Mountain, Shan Cooper and her husband Doug of Brampton and Joanne McDonald and her husband Steve of Ottawa. Adored by her eleven loving grandchildren; Jen (Jess), Chris (Angela), Michael (Katie), Dave (Cheryl), Carolyn (Mike), Anna, Brianna (Brandon), Caitlin (Bart), Ian, Carly, Jane and; 13 great grandchildren, Max, Josh, Emily, Avery, Jacob, Thomas and Graeme; Liam and Tyson; Payten and Cassidy, William and Scarlett. Survived by her sister Sheila Cross Bartram of Hudson and predeceased by her sister Anne Ross.
We will be forever grateful for the legacy of love for family commitment and tradition our Mum/Gramma/GG instilled in us all.
Special and heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Wedgewood Retirement Home, who were like her second family for the last 10 years, and we will be eternally grateful for their love, care and support.
A service celebrating Jane’s life will be held on Monday, December 17th, 2018 at 11:30 am at the Parish of St. Lawrence, 80 Pine St., Brockville, ON., K6V1G7. Interment will take place at a later date. A reception will follow at the Wedgewood Retirement Home, 15 Market Street, E., Brockville. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James St., E., Brockville, ON. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers donations to the St Lawrence Anglican Church Memorial Fund or the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care will be gratefully acknowledged.
