Jim will be missed by his many friends in the hockey community. From a young age Jim enjoyed his time on the ice as a young man with the Winnipeg Toban’s and travelled to play with the Yellow Knife Giants. Jim was also a respected ice official on the lower mainland. Once settled in Nanaimo in 1986 he quickly joined the local hockey community and became a beloved member of the Grumpy Old Men.
Jim also had a love of training and racing horses. And will be greatly missed by the Hastings Park community.
In later years Jim and Sylvia loved to travel by cruise to many foreign ports of sea. He met many life long friends on their adventures. Jim will be remembered fondly by his travelling family for his quick wit and open smile.
