James CRONKWRIGHT Sunday December 31, 2017
CRONKWRIGHT, James Stewart – in his 74th year, passed away peacefully at his home in the early hours of December 31st, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He is the youngest son of the late Melvin and Mabel Cronkwright and the youngest brother of Ralph (deceased), Louise, Jack and Larry. He is the cherished husband of Jean Cronkwright (nee Heald), loving father of Tim (Karen) of Vittoria, grandchildren Reyd, Gavyn and Hayden; Amy of North Bay, grandchildren Cole and Austen; Matt (Tammy) of Port Ryerse, grandson River (mother, Leeann); and Jason (Nancy) of Ottawa, grandchildren Huntley and Scout. Jim will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and extended family. Jim’s passion, positivity, focus and attention to detail in all aspects of his life were well known among his family and friends. Jim was a loving husband, a caring father and grandfather, an interesting and unpredictable teacher, a pillar of the Cronkwright Transport family business, a formidable adversary, a fastidious planner, a fine architect and an accomplished builder; an early morning hunter and Gravelly Bay lover, an avid collector, a dogged researcher, a determined historian, a lifelong fisherman, a precise numbers man and so much more. He will be greatly missed by all of us. Forever and forever. We’d like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to special caregivers during Jim’s illness, with a sincere thank you to Sarah and Nancy, and our dear friends, Karen and Doug. Those wishing to donate in memory of Jim are asked to consider the Juravinski Cancer Centre, the Cancer Resource & Support Program or the Eva Brook Donly Museum. At Jim’s request, a celebration of life will occur this spring. Online condolences may be sent to www.smithfuneralchapel.com.
