James Albert Broad
June 20, 1944 – December 23, 2018
It is with deep sadness, that his family announce that Jim died peacefully,
surrounded by love at Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital on Sunday
December 23, 2018. Jim Broad, of Fawcettville, at the age of 74. Beloved
husband of the late Jan. Loving partner of Linda Cowan. Loved dad of Tracey
Broad and her husband Ken Butland of Trenton and Tony and his wife Jennifer of
Carrying Place. Proud poppa of Brittany, Brayden, Kylie, Ty, Bailey and
> Jessie. Dear brother of Muriel, Marilyn, Bob, Donald, David and the late Jane
and Bill. He will also be missed by Linda’s children and grandchildren. Jim
was a long-time member of the Elks Lodge 326, Picton, a retired Corrections
Officer at Millhaven, and a passionate supporter of the drivers who raced at
Brighton Speedway. A private family graveside service will be held at Cherry
Valley Cemetery. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at the Elks Lodge,
Picton on Thursday January 3rd, 2019 from 1 until 4 p.m. If desired, donations to the
Heart & Stroke Foundation or Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation
would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Whattam
Funeral Home, 33 Main Street, Picton.
