Born in Helsinki, Finland on September 9, 1934. Died in Toronto, Canada on May 15, 2018. Loving husband to Leena (nee Martikainen) and equally loving father to Karen and Henry. Proud Pappa of Nathan and Eric. Master of the cottage. Fixer of everything. Outdoors man. Car enthusiast. Logger. Miner. Construction man. And so much more. A gentle man who let his deeds do the talking. We loved him and will love him forever for his strength and his wisdom. A raise of his eyebrow or a shake of his head would be enough to guide our path. A proud Suomalainen, the embodiment of Sisu, who lived up to the phrase “You can tell a Finn, but you can’t tell him much”. Rest in Peace. We love you.
