Isabell Lulu Morrell
After a brief illness, our beloved mother, Isabell Lulu Morrell of Fall River, passed away January 2, 2018 at the Halifax Infirmary, QEII with her loving daughters at her side. Mom was born in New Glasgow in 1919 and through her 98 years, got to experience a lot of history.
She was predeceased by her husband Byron (Deac) Morrell, he was the boy across the road and just a friend until he
returned from WWII and she married her handsome soldier in 1946. With Dad she led the ups and downs and experiences of being an Army wife, and loved it.
Isabell was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was predeceased by her parents, Mary Ann and John William Lowe (of Stellarton) as well as siblings, Evelyn Spears, Pearl (William) Weir, Harold (Margaret) Lowe and Robert (Leona) Lowe; in-laws Ralph and Janet Morrell and brother and sister-in-law Earl and Eleanor Morrell;
brothers-in-law, Ralph Morrell and William Morrell. She is survived by adoring daughters, Audrey and Joan, as well as sisters-in-law, Arlene (Ralph) Morrell, Ottawa and Nancy (Stephen) Morrell-Lamey, New Glasgow, along with several nieces and nephews.
During her life Mom helped her father run his family store, became a certified electrologist, helped nurse her ailing parents , loved gardening, preserving, was a wonderful cook and most importantly being a devoted daughter, wife and mother (and father when Dad was posted away from us). Mom and Dad shared their love of traveling and whether it was a short or long distance, their suitcase was always at the ready for their next adventure.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018, 1:00 -3:00 p.m. at First Sackville Presbyterian Church, Beaver
Bank Rd., Lr Sackville with funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Jean MacAulay. Reception to
follow in the Church Hall.
We would like to thank the Doctors in the Neurology Dept. as well as the kind, wonderful care given to Mom by the Nurses of 4.2 at the Halifax Infirmary, as well as her family Doctor, Dr. T. Mullan, Bernice and Brenda for the care and kindness shown to Mom the past several years.
