VANDERVAART, Hendricus Wilhelmus “Hank” – At Bluewater Health, Sarnia on Monday, September 17, 2018 at the age of 78. Dear father of Peter Vandervaart (Lisa Lunn), Sarnia, Lisa Vandervaart (Reggie Lefaive), Belle River and Sue Vandervaart, Halifax. Loving grandfather of Tory, P.J. and Brandon. Brother of Henny Sliz (Mike), St. Catharines, Carla Baxter (Bob), Fonthill, Leo Vandervaart (Margaret), Port Colborne and Margaret Littman (Joe), St. Catharines. Brother-in-law of Jim Steel, St. Catharines and Stella Vandervaart, Niagara Falls. Predeceased by parents Peter & Margaret Vandervaart, brother Gerry Vandervaart and sister Maria Steel. Hank was retired from General Motors Axle Plant after 35 years of service. Following his retirement, Hank went into security and cab driving in St. Catharines. In 2011, he relocated to Sarnia to be closer with his son and grandchildren. In Sarnia, he enjoyed fishing and making lots of new friends. Hank enjoyed life to the fullest. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, Sarnia, 519-344-3131.
