Kingsbury – Helen Margaret
1926 – 2018
Helen passed away at the age of ninety-one. She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret and William Kingsbury; sisters, Kathleen (Nelson) and Annie (Kirby) and brothers, Clark and Leslie. Helen is survived by nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Helen worked many places, Co-op Store Auburton, Royal Bank in Oxbow, Carlyle and Balcarres. She came home to the farm and for nine years raised poultry and sold eggs.
In 1956 the family moved to Oxbow.
In 1957 she worked for Schlumberger of Canada until 1960.
In 1961 she moved Duncan B.C. where she worked for B.C. Hydro.
In 1963 she went to Seattle to take a course in ceramics following the course she came back to Oxbow and in September opened “The Handicraft Shop” teaching children and adults ceramics.
In 1974 she started working at the Library, she worked there until her retirement in 1989.
In retirement she spent eleven winters in Victoria. An accident in 2000 ended her days in Oxbow and she moved to Regina.
Helen requests no funeral but wishes her ashes to be buried on her father’s grave.
