Hazel Marion Bastarache, of Blackville, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 87.
She was the daughter of the late Everett and Ruby (Mountain) Curtis. She worked as a ward clerk at the Moncton City Hospital for 20 years an was a member St Andrew’s United Church, in Blackville.
She will be greatly missed by her three daughters Trudy Bastarache of Ontario, Susan Colford of Blackville, and Karen Vautour (Neri) of Fredericton; four sons Sherman (Judy) of Abbotsford, BC, Preston of Moncton, Brent of Milford, NS, and Kevin of Cocagne; three brothers Reggie Curtis of Fredericton, Winston Curtis (May) of Blackville, and Manfred Curtis (Vada) of Blackville; as well as several grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Emery Bastarache; her sister Georgina; two brothers Wilmot Curtis and Murray Curtis; son-in-law David Colford; and two sisters-in-law Willa Curtis and Mabel Curtis.
At the request of the family, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
