Henry Simser
Peacefully in hospital, Henry passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018 at the age of 85. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 61 years, Greta (née Birtch) and his children Glenn and Janet (Rick Merritt). He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Marjorie (late Gordon), Gert (late Malcolm), Shirley (late Everett) and many nieces, nephews, and grandnephews. He is predeceased by his parents John and Irene Simser, his in-laws James and Vera Birtch; his brothers Herbert (late Sadie), Vernon (late Connie), Lester (late Jackie), Gordon and Malcolm, and sisters Loretta (late Harry Taylor), Lois (late Edgar Lavergne), Laura (late Donald “Roy” Brown), Audrey (late Norman Langevin) and Shirley (late George Girard); sisters-in-law and brothers in-law Wilda and Emerson Hodgins, Gloria Birtch and Everett Healey (Shirley).
Henry had a great love for his family and country music. Fond memories will be held of him will be held by many, of him playing alongside his brothers and sisters around the campfire, as well as many seniors in senior’s residences and senior’s socials. Henry will be missed by all who knew and had come to love him. Family and friends may pay respects at Capital Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3700 Prince of Wales Drive, 613-692-1211, on Monday, March 26 from 10 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service in the chapel at 11 a.m. followed by inurnment and a reception. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
