Gwendoline Alice Wilson (nee Michael)
Gwen was born in Ladysmith, BC on May 30, 1918 and died in NRGH on May 5, 2018 after suffering a stroke at home on April 24.
Gwen was predeceased by George, her husband of 70 years, in 2008, her parents Thomas and Josephine (Bowden) Michael, sister Grace and brother Tom. She is survived by her daughter Dawn (Denis), sister Margaret and many nieces and nephews.
Gwen lived her entire life in North Oyster and Cedar. After George retired, they traveled throughout BC, Alberta, Yukon and the NWT in their camper. She was an avid gardener, maintaining a park like acreage into her early 90’s. When she could no longer garden outside, she kept many house plants. She was also skilled at many crafts with cross stitch and jewelry making among her favourites.
Gwen’s family would like to thank her friends; Art, Bobbi, Vic, Del, Sandra and Jo-Ann for doing so much to enable her to stay in her home of 75 years and to Homecare for their care and kindness.
