Lewe – Glenda Rose
Glenda passed away peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on November 3, 2018 in her 79th year. Glenda is survived by her loving husband Peter Lewe. She is dearly remembered by her brother-in-law John Lewe, sister Lenora Horne (Ralph), nephew Bill Haq, niece Margaret Haq and great-nephew Dario Haq. She is predeceased by her sister Ellen (Zia) Haq. Glenda will be profoundly missed by her diverse group of friends and her cat Ally.
Glenda and Peter were married for fifty-three years. Together, they travelled the world and enjoyed their home on the river in Manotick. They often invited friends for excursions on The Odyssey—their boat docked riverside.
Glenda grew up in Font Hill, Ontario and graduated from McMaster University. She started her career as a teacher and then joined the federal public service. Widely respected across the country, she was a trail blazer in the field of workplace literacy. Glenda launched her own national consulting business to great success.
Glenda was an avid reader, articulate and conversant on a wide variety of topics. She had a love of languages and worked hard to learn Spanish abroad and at home in addition to French. Glenda adored animals and was an ardent animal rights advocate. She was loyal and devoted, always lending a helping hand to her family and friends. Family and friends may attend a visitation at the
Kars Chapel of Tubman s, 1610 Roger Stevens Dr. Kars, ON on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of a Celebration of Life in the chapel at 11:30 a.m. Interment Rideauvale Cemetery.
