FRY, Gilbert Fyfield
Gilbert Fry died peacefully, surrounded by family, at North Bay Regional Health Centre, on Friday, December 7, 2018. He was in his 96th year. Gilbert was the beloved husband for 71 years of Lisa (Schermer) of Powassan. He was the much-loved father of Lori Holotuk (Ron) of Bear Valley and Lanni Fry (Frances) of Holland Landing. Grandpa will be lovingly remembered by grandchildren Andrea Grawbarger (Steve), Blair Holotuk (Sarah), Candice Fry (Robin) and great-grandchildren Ben, Santanna (Brandon), Spencer, Bryson, Braedan, and Barett. Gilbert was the dear brother of Rodney Fry (June) of Commanda and was predeceased by his siblings Alfred Fry, Vernon Fry (Eileen, dec.) and Phyllis Bolton. Dear brother-in-law of Alma Fry and Elmer Bolton. Gib was like a son to the late Otto and Hedy Schermer. The Fry family will receive visitors at the Paul Funeral Home, Powassan on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and at the Commanda Community Centre on Wednesday, December 12 from 1:00 pm until the Legion Tribute at 1:50 pm. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm officiated by Pastor Gerry Slote. Spring interment will take place at Commanda Cemetery.
