Ghislain « Gil » Authier
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on June 9, 2018 at 75 years of age. Beloved husband of 52 years to Gilberte (née Brousseau). Cherished father of Sylvie Hartshorn (Ian), Christine Metson (Tony), Natalie Campbell (Jason), and Nadia Authier (Ted MacEwen). Adored grand-papa of Gabrielle; Tatum and Makayla; and Sara, Sydney and Kyle. Predeceased by his parents Annonciade Authier (née Dupuis), and Adrien Authier and Eugénie Cormier. Loving brother of the late Jacques, the late Jean-Guy, Marcel, the late Lyse Boucher, the late Michèle, and the late Daniel. Ghislain will be sadly missed by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
A heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nurses of W.R.H. – Ouellette Campus, Neurology Department (8E) for their care and compassion towards Gil.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Debra Canada, a charity that was very near to Gil’s heart, or to the Windsor & Es County Cancer Centre Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. Club de l’ Âge d’Or Jean-Paul II prayers at 3 p.m. and K of C prayers (Conseil St-Jérôme #8682) at 7:30 p.m. at FAMILIES FIRST, 1065 Lauzon Rd., East Windsor, 519-969-5841 On Monday, family and friends are invited to meet at Église St. Jérôme Church (3739 Ypres Ave) for a Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
